Food Security Partnership

Volunteer

Hunger exists in our community everyday, and affects children, families, adults, and seniors. Ending Hunger in our community depends on the volunteer work of thousands of volunteers who know that their effort can make a difference.

It’s simple– get involved today– and get your family and friends involved!

Whether it’s one day a year or a few hours every week, your donation of time and energy helps us get food where and when its needed most. Weekday or Weekend. Morning or Evening. Individuals or Groups. There are many different volunteer opportunities available, so find what works for you!

Produce to People

Produce to People, or P2P, is a large-scale produce distribution program. Each family receives 30-50 pounds of food, mostly fresh produce. By attending a direct distribution, you will experience a powerful, introspective glimpse into the food insecurity that exists in our very own community. This eye-opening volunteer experience places volunteers in a rewarding position as they help the Food Bank directly fight hunger. Together we will distribute between 15,000 and 23,000 pounds of food directly to families in need.

Pantry Distributions

The Corner Cupboard Food Bank is requesting Volunteer support to expand its current program to distribute food to individuals in need in Greene County. Through twelve pantries, located throughout the county, and the on-site Emergency Food program, approximately 2,300 individuals are served each month a combined total of approximately 790,000 pounds of food. This feat could never be accomplished without the hard work of hundreds of volunteers. If you are looking to spend some extra time volunteering, pantry distributions may be the place for you.

Distributions take place once a month, and may take 1-4 hours (set-up, distribution, tear-down), depending on the pantry site. Twelve pantry sites are available throughout the county, with different dates and times to accommodate unique schedules.
