Community Education and Outreach Forum
Periodically, the Greene County Food Security Partnership convenes a half-day to day long “Hunger Summit” that addresses issues in the county dealing with food insecurity. Typically, only one issue, the one that is currently the most pressing in the county, is addressed at each forum, e.g., senior hunger, childhood hunger. The purpose of the forum is to educate county residents about the problem and to get their input about how to resolve the problem. The next Hunger Summit will be held March 5, 2108, 9am to 12pm. It will be held at Waynesburg University Stover Center. This summit will focus on the goals and intitiatives of A Blueprint for a Hunger-Free PA. Heather Hallam, Advisor to the Governor on Food and Nutrition Programs will be the keynote speaker.
